IPSEN Forlax Enfants - child 4g x 20sachets

Forlax 4g for children belongs to a group called osmotic laxatives because its active ingredient is macrogol.
Forlax in sachets helps increase the amount of water in the stool, which helps to solve constipation problems related to slow intestinal transit.

Forlax for children: from what age?

This laxative product is intended for children aged 6 months to 8 years.

 

Dosage of Forlax:

From 6 months to 1 year: 1 sachet of Forlax 4g per day
From 1 to 4 years: 1 or 2 sachets per day of Forlax child
From 4 to 8 years: 2 to 4 sachets per day

This treatment against constipation generally takes 24 to 48 hours to act. It should not exceed 3 months.

The sachets of Forlax are put in a glass of water before being given to the child, preferably in the morning if taken once or morning and evening if taken multiple times.

Contraindications of Forlax child and baby

Do not give this medicine for constipation if your child is allergic to any of its ingredients or if he or she suffers from a colon or intestinal disease: Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, intestinal perforation, ileus, unexplained abdominal pain or if he or she is intolerant to fructose.

Taking Forlax 4g may cause diarrhea and therefore a risk of loss of electrolytes. Seek medical advice before using this medicine if your child suffers from liver or kidney failure, if child taking diuretics.

 

Ingredients:

Macrogol 4g, sodium saccharin (E954) and orange-grapefruit flavouring (containing essential oils of orange and grapefruit, orange juice concentrate, citral, acetic aldehyde, linalool, ethyl butyrate, alpha terpineol, octanal, beta gamma hexenol, maltodextrin, gum arabic, sorbitol (E420), BHA (E 320) and sulphur dioxide (E 220).
