 The artisanal manufacturing process of Aleppo soap
The olive oil is placed in a buried tank with water and soda. The contents are heated in a cauldron for three days. Laurel berry oil is then added, once the saponification reaction has progressed. The dough is spread in specialized workshops, the artisans apply strong pressure then standardize its thickness. The soap is then cut into blocks using a specialized instrument, then the words “as in the past” are stamped. Once this process is completed, it's not over! The soap is then stored in a cellar so that it dries for 18 months. This type of manufacturing allows all the properties and virtues of its noble raw materials to be preserved.
